 | Diabetes Wake-Up Call: Fix Blood Sugar Fast |
|
|
Hi there, |
If you've been told that as long as you're taking your medication, your diabetes is "under control" — I need you to hear this: that's not true. Over 30 million Americans have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, and nearly 80 million more qualify as pre-diabetic. That's 35% of the U.S. adult population. And whether you're managing it with drugs or not, elevated blood sugar is doing damage every single day. |
Diabetics have twice the risk of death from any cause compared to people of the same age without diabetes. It decreases longevity by an average of 15 years. This isn't something to be cavalier about. But here's the good news: you can reverse it. My patients have done it, and tonight I'm sharing exactly how. |
Why Type 2 Diabetes Is Far More Dangerous Than You've Been Told |
|
|
Most people hear "type 2 diabetes" and think it just means watching their sugar intake. The reality is far more serious. Elevated blood sugar creates inflammation throughout your entire body — and that inflammation is what drives the real damage. |
If you have type 2 diabetes, your risk of stroke and heart attack increases by up to 500%. Sixty percent of diabetics die from a cardiovascular event. It's the number one cause of adult blindness in the United States, with 34% of diabetics developing eye disease. It's the primary cause of kidney failure in 44% of new cases. And the nerve damage — the neuropathy — can show up as tingling, burning, numbness, weakness, joint pain, facial paralysis, fatigue, depression, difficulty walking, and muscle atrophy. |
These aren't rare complications. They're the expected trajectory if blood sugar isn't truly corrected — not just masked with medication. |
The Real Problem: Your Cells Are Full |
|
Here's what's actually happening in type 2 diabetes. Your body produces insulin — that's not the issue. Insulin's job is to unlock your cells so glucose can get inside and be used as fuel. The problem is that after years of eating too many carbohydrates, your cells are completely stuffed. Think of it like a hallway closet that's so packed you can't even open the door. |
So your body keeps releasing more and more insulin, trying to force that glucose into cells that have no room. The sugar stays in your bloodstream, creating inflammation. And all that extra insulin? It builds more fat cells. More fat cells means more insulin, which means more fat. It's a vicious cycle. |
Ninety-five percent of people with type 2 diabetes have it because they're carrying too much weight. Those fat cells aren't just sitting there — they're actively releasing inflammatory chemicals that drive pain, fatigue, brain fog, and disease. |
Why Medication Isn't the Answer |
|
Metformin is the least harmful of the diabetes drugs, and there's a time and place for it. But no one has a metformin deficiency. It can lower your numbers on blood work, but it doesn't fix the underlying problem. And it comes with side effects — GI issues, bloating, fatigue, muscle pain, brain fog, anxiety, depression — and has been associated with up to a 50% increased risk of developing Alzheimer's or dementia. |
Then there's insulin therapy. For type 2 diabetics, adding more insulin is like throwing gasoline on the fire. Insulin is an anabolic hormone — it builds things, including more fat cells. The research is sobering: insulin replacement therapy increases the risk of death from all causes by 200%, stroke by 150%, kidney damage by 350%, eye disease and blindness by 200%, and cancer by 150%. |
And the GLP-1 shots? Yes, you'll lose weight. But if you're eating less of an unhealthy diet, are you really getting healthier? Once you stop the shots, the weight comes back because nothing broke the cravings, nothing fixed the root cause. You also risk muscle loss and gastroparesis — I've had numerous patients end up in the ER from GLP-1 complications. |
What You Really Need to Know About Your A1C |
Your hemoglobin A1C is a blood test that shows your average daily blood sugar over three months — much more accurate than a single fasting glucose reading. Here's what to aim for: |
Optimal: 4.6–5.0 |
Functional pre-diabetes: Above 5.5 |
Medical pre-diabetes: 5.6–5.7 |
Type 2 diabetes diagnosis: 6.1 and above |
If your A1C is above 5.6, you need to take steps starting today. My patients have reversed their A1C levels within about a month using the protocols I'm about to share. |
The Diet That Actually Works |
|
The American Diabetic Association diet of whole grains and low fat is, frankly, a disaster for type 2 diabetes. The only way to reverse it is to reduce the stored sugar in your body — and you do that by cutting simple carbohydrates while losing weight. |
That means eliminating sugars, grains, white rice, white potatoes, corn, chips, and pasta as daily staples. Shop the outside aisles of the grocery store — produce, quality meats, and a little dairy if you tolerate it. Three-quarters of your plate should be protein, the rest vegetables, maybe a little fruit for dessert. Choose grass-fed beef and pasture-raised chicken and eggs to maximize anti-inflammatory omega-3s. |
Replace inflammatory seed oils — corn, sunflower, safflower, cottonseed, soybean, and canola — with coconut oil, butter, ghee, lard, or tallow. And take a quality fish oil supplement — at least two grams a day. |
Use natural sweeteners like stevia, xylitol, or monk fruit instead of sugar. Avoid artificial sweeteners, especially aspartame (NutraSweet), which has generated more complaints to the FDA than any other substance. Splenda can shrink your thymus gland and disrupt your gut microbiome. If you must use one, Sweet'N Low is the least harmful of the three. |
And watch out for fruit juice. You can drink a glass of orange juice in a minute, but you'd never eat the eight oranges it took to make it. You're overloading your body's ability to process that sugar. |
The Sugar-Inflammation-Weight Connection |
|
The average American consumes about 152 pounds of sugar per year, with 20% of daily calories coming from sugary beverages alone. Sugar lights up the same reward centers in the brain as addictive drugs. It accelerates skin aging, hardens arteries, overloads the liver — especially high fructose corn syrup, which the liver stores as fat, leading to non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. |
Excess sugar raises ghrelin, your hunger hormone, creating a vicious cycle of cravings. It raises cortisol, which increases insulin production and weight gain. And it suppresses leptin, your fullness signal, so you never feel satisfied. |
Being just 20 pounds overweight increases your risk of heart disease by 32%, stroke by 81%, type 2 diabetes by 20%, and high blood pressure by 600%. Every pound of fat forces your heart to pump blood through seven extra miles of blood vessels. That's 140 extra miles of workload if you're carrying 20 extra pounds. |
Breaking the Cycle: How My Patients Actually Lose the Weight |
I'll be honest — for years, I couldn't get my patients to lose weight. They knew what to eat. They just couldn't stick with it. The cravings won every time, or their metabolism shut down from low-calorie dieting, and the yo-yo cycle continued. |
That changed when I started using natural, non-stimulating homeopathic weight loss drops designed to suppress ghrelin and boost leptin. Within a day or two of starting the drops, the hunger quiets down. The sugar cravings and stress eating fade. The mind chatter stops. Patients typically lose about half a pound a day — roughly 15 to 20 pounds in the first month. |
As the weight comes off, the inflammatory chemicals stored in those fat cells are eliminated. A1C levels start to normalize. Energy goes up, pain goes down, sleep improves, mental clarity returns. And because the stomach shrinks within about a week, patients naturally eat less without feeling deprived. |
The drops are non-stimulating — they won't affect blood pressure, heart rate, or sleep. They can be taken with any medication. No prepackaged foods, no shots, no doctor visits. Just a whole foods diet paired with a tool that actually makes it sustainable. I've had patients lose over 150 pounds and keep it off. |
Real Patients, Real Results |
Johnna came to me in 2011, bedridden 18 hours a day. Type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, 40+ pounds overweight, on 12 medications. Her husband told me it was going to be their last Christmas together. With the right supplements and the weight loss protocol, she lost 40 pounds, got off medications, and now spends her time hiking mountains and canoeing with her husband. |
Cynthia was bedridden with type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure. Once she started losing weight on the protocol, her inflammation and pain dropped dramatically, her energy and mental clarity improved, and we were able to wean her off multiple medications. |
Jenny in Toledo lost her job as a first-grade teacher. She lost 40 pounds on the diet and went back to work. |
Nurse Kelly in Pennsylvania lost her job as head of the OR. She lost over 45 pounds and returned to work. |
My Recommended Protocol for Type 2 Diabetes |
Blood Sugar Support — Contains berberine, which lowers both blood sugar and cholesterol, along with banaba and gymnema sylvestre. This is what I put all my type 2 diabetes patients on while they're doing the diet. |
Fish Oil — Two grams a day (1,000 mg twice daily). Essential for reducing inflammation. Everyone should be on this. |
Inflammation Support Formula — I use this for patients with elevated A1C or cardiovascular disease, at least until the weight is coming off and I can see inflammation markers dropping. |
CoQ10 — Critical if you have cardiovascular disease or are on a statin medication. CoQ10 is the energy source for your heart. |
Cholesterol Alternative — For those looking to replace statins, I recommend Choleast by Thorne, which contains red yeast rice and CoQ10. |
Can You Actually Reverse Type 2 Diabetes? |
Yes. The answer for the vast majority of people is to get the weight off and keep it off. Not with more drugs. Not with GLP-1 shots. Not with insulin. With a clean whole foods diet and a tool that helps you actually stick with it. |
Ninety percent of diabetes, 80% of heart disease, and 60% of cancers are preventable with a healthier diet and lifestyle. As Hippocrates said — let food be thy medicine. |
